Wesleyan Historian and Professor
Bob Black recently retired from the religion faculty of Southern Wesleyan University, where he had taught since 1986. A third-generation Wesleyan minister, he co-authored, with Keith Drury, The Story of The Wesleyan Church, the official denominational history soon to be available in an updated edition. His other works include How Firm a Foundation, the centennial history of Southern Wesleyan University, along with contributions to a number of historical reference volumes and the Wesleyan Commentary series. A Southern Wesleyan alumnus, he is also a graduate of Asbury Theological Seminary and Union Theological Seminary in Virginia, where he received a Ph.D. in Church History.
