Gaby Garver is a 2016 graduate of Indiana Wesleyan University’s International Relations program and the John Wesley Honors College. After a year of resettling refugees in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, she moved to Istanbul, Turkey, where she works as a copy editor and writer for the Daily Sabah online newspaper. Gaby also teaches beginner Turkish to refugee teenagers. Despite her blond hair, Turks tell her she’s become one of them, since she’s learned to cook, talk slang and even dance at weddings. She loves hosting guests, misses enchiladas and state parks and passes her free time planning trips and writing.
