George Martin

Pastor

Pastor George D. Martin, Jr. accepted his call to ministry while attending college. Pastor Martin’s desire to see young boys be successful prompted him to develop an urban ministry for young men (5-19 years) designed to give them something God-centered and positive to be part of as an alternative to street gangs. In 1999, God gave him a vision to establish The Sanctuary Church (TSC) in Indianapolis.

Pastor Martin founded TSC in March 2002 with five charter members. TSC has grown to over 400 members. He continues to work diligently at building a church welcoming “each-one,” enhancing spiritual growth through powerful biblical teachings. Through his leadership, TSC established The Sanctuary Outreach, Inc., to address social needs in the community.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree from Anderson University and is married to Toyin. The couple has four children: Jeremiah, Tylin, Tyah, and George III.
